Don't Let Me Forget

I forget that God loves me.

Life gets in the way,

I do stupid stuff,

I shove God to the side,

and when I go back to talk to him,

I feel like he's said, "Deuces, I'm out."

But tonight, I'm reminded that

No matter what I say

No matter what I do

No matter what I did

and No matter what I didn't do

He. Still. Loves. Me.

Period.

His love isn't contingent on my actions.

Don't Forget

By: Skye Parks

Don't let me

forget

what you did

what you gave

what your son looked like

broken and bleeding

physically defiled

but internally and eternally pure.

Don't let me forget.

Don't let me forget the holes in his

nail-scarred hands

on whic my name is written

Don't let me forget the pierced feet

that he uses to run to me.

Don't let me forget that at the moment

of his last breath

He declared

It is

Done.

Done.

Finished.

The Earth and its people

no longer bound

no longer stained

by their iniquities

but with the tearing of the veil

came the tearing away of

sin

curses

bondage

loss.

Don't let me forget.

Don't let me forget the fact that

If I was the

One.

The only.

The sole human being that needed

salvation

you would still come down

and shed your blood

to cover mine.

Don't let me forget that you were

Broken

to take my

brokeness

You were

whipped

to remove the

sting

of my

sin.

You were defiled so that

every dirty thing I do

every dirty thing I see

would be clean.

Don't let me forget your love.

God,

please, don't let me forget your burning desire

for me.

Don't let me forget.
